Christmas with the VZ's
This year for Christmas with the VZ's we tried a something little different....we went swimming and out to eat. It was blast!
Bethany is 8 Months
At 8 months old Bethany is rolling like a happy little baby! She still has no desire to stand or think about crawling or walking, but why would she, all she has to do is make a peep and somebody carries her all around!
She got her first tooth on February 4th and likes to eat real food, not that baby food.
She recently has discovered a love for cut in half blueberries! She has been sick this month so sleeping thorugh the night has gone to the wayside! She is such a snuggely baby. She just graduated to a "big" car set because her bucket was getting to small. We also quit nursing this month.

Christmas 2012
7 months
On Christmas Eve Bethany turned 7 months old.
She enjoyed her "birthday" by going to the candle light service at AC Reformed Church.
After Grandma and Grandpa came and we opened presents. Her favorite part of the night was the noisy wrapping paper. At 7 months Bethany is sitting all by herself and rolling. She enjoys most food. She is a very content baby! This is her Christmas dress!
The first week in January we took Grandma to Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. She was the best baby ever! She charmed all she meet! I love the way she clicks her tounge to get your attention or does her "dive" in front of you if you are not looking at her.

Things I don't want to forget
My children are growing SO fast and there are things I want to remember about their childhood years!
Gage has the cutest darn toothless smile.
Memphis's favorite toy right now includes a big rock that his animals climb up, jump off of and fight on.
Julia is the most clumbsy child I have ever met. Only pour as much juice as you want to wipe up.
When Bethany eats she her little hand has to have something to feel whether it is your hair, a blanket, her hair or your face. Julia insists that you must watch her poop!
Memphis has become a HUGE daddy's boy! Memphis can say the funniest things...so innocently! For example his latest
*when Grandpa's underware were in the laundry Memphis comes flying into the kitchen to inform us that "Grandpa didn't wipe his but because his underware is brown"
*After pouring a healthy sized portion of ranch on Memphis's plate he exclaims not that little I want it "papa" sized!
Gage's favorite things include any type of animal, but yet he is scared to death of any living animal. He has also become quite the smarty pants....he doesn't want to wear a hat, gloves to school...so he gets on the bus wearing them, but hides them on the bus and tells the school he doesn't have them and than when he gets back on the bus to go home he gets them. This has also now happened with his reading books.
Julia is a little me. Very stubborned! She loves her coffee and most mornings is VERY crabby until she gets it. She loves her "Granma" and often proclaims she is staying over night. Anything her teacher says is the "law". Her lastest funny statement was "I'm not going to school ever again" oh why? "because N and C are mean" oh why are they mean "because they make me share!"
Bethany clicks her tounge to get your attention. She "dives" in front of you if you are not looking at her while you are holding her. She says "mm" while she eats. She hates people in her space and will pull their hair to get them out of it. She thinks she should be carried everywhere and when you try to have her stand her legs turn to jelly. She LOVES her bottle and LOVES to sleep with a blanket on her face...you move it off she moves it right back on it.

Not me Monday!
Not Me Monday!
After the New Year’s Day that I had I thought I would write
a not me Monday!
It was not my husband who woke up to discover that his toe
was red, swollen, and blue and couldn’t for the life of him think of why it was
that way. It was not I who panicked and
wanted to take him to the ER because I thought they would amputate his toe
because of his diabetes’. He did not decide to go the ER just to make
sure it was ok only to discover in the ER waiting room that his toe was sore
because he did not trip over clothes on the floor in the middle of the
night…because my house is ALWAYS clean and my laundry is always washed, folded
and put away!
It was not my children who set up toys to use as hurdles and
decided their baby sister would make a great hurdle and she did not tip over,
get a huge bruise on her head because I ALWAYS
watch my kids and would NEVER let them jump over their sister!
It was not my husband who graciously let me take a nap and
while I was sleeping he did not let my kids eat a whole bag of freezes…he feed
them their lunch because are children always eat well balanced meals!
I did not swerve on the road to hit the rumble strips on the
side of the road to make my screaming baby quit crying and I did not get pulled
over by the police officer because my head light was out. It was not me who said to the police officer
after he asked me if I knew why I got pulled over “could it be that my
screaming children are breaking the noise violation?” It was not my children in the back seat
screaming “don’t take my mom to jail” because David and I would NEVER lie to
our kids to make them keep their seat belts on.
It was not me that didn’t have her licenses with her because I am always
responsible and would not have forgotten to put my wallet back in the diaper
bag after taking it out to give to my husband his insurance card for above ER
trip. It was not the police officer who
looked at me with a sorry look for pulling over a mother who obviously was already
frazzled.
It was not me who played the Wii instead of packing for the
Rochester trip…I would never put play before work!
