Submission

I read this today and enjoyed the truth in it....
"Submission is not being a doormat. Submission is not just rolling over and accepting bad behavior. Submission is not turning the other cheek on an abusive spouse who refuses to get help. Submission is not a life sentence for women to feel inferior. Quite the contrary. For me, submission is beautiful. Submission has meant freedom for me. Living with the knowledge and emotional freedom that I do not control my spouse has been liberating for me. Gone (or, going) are the days when I struggle to try to change my husband. I have given up trying to show him the error of his ways. You see, I think that as wives, it is not our job to fix or punish our husbands with our judgements, cold shoulders or loud decrees. Instead, as I once heard it put, it is our job to simply duck so that God can punch our husbands when they need it. And so I have been practicing ducking. By getting out of the way of what God wants to teach my husband, I remove distractions that may be in my husband's way for him to hear God directly. Distractions like my really annoying behavior when I would try to get my point across to my husband about what a louse he was being. " taken from http://www.mckmama.com

Famous

I thought I would never be famous or "popular" but the other night when my 3 year old started yelling "mommy" "I need mommy" "mommy" more times than one can count, my husband rolls over and says to me "bet you never thought you would have a fan club, but just listen you have one now". I had never thought about it this way before, I am the most popular mommy in our house and I have the best fan club ever!

Cowboy Bob

Cowboy Bob, sporting his very stylish cowboy hat, basketball shirt, and snow boots with drum sticks (aka pencils) in his back pocket.

Memphis has decided his name is Bob as well as everybody elses name as well.
The oh so fast Gage sporting different shoes both left feet with Memphis's pants that are WAY to short and his purple sparkle bike!
Didn't you know, it makes you go SO much faster when you wear 2 different style shoes?
They are quite the pair!
Gotta love them for their uniqueness! and yes I did take them out in public looking as creative as they did on Saturday!

Decisions

Life is full of decisions and David and are facing a few big ones. We don't want to make any decision without seeking what God's will is for our lives and we are asking that you would draw out your swords and pray for us....that God would give us clear answers so we have no doubts about what direction God is sending us in.

Ramblings

Mom is a little slow yet, but is healing and out of pain. She is enjoying having her mom stay with her. We are still waiting for the "report" on the pancreas. Please continue to pray for healing for her. PRAISE the LORD that my Dad is doing so well. It is great to have my Dad back!

The Baker Kids are well again and I am willing myself not to get sick! Julia is developing quite the little attitude...hmmm wonder where she gets that! (My mom thinks she is a little Ruthie!) Memphis still refuses to be potty trained because he is a baby and Gage enjoyed meeting new friends this weekend at respite. David is busy at work this week with developing a simulation disaster to respond to.

Why is it.....

This week as I have been home with my sick kids and these truths I discovered...

Why is it that as a baby Julia hated her bouncy seat and swing but now likes it as a toddler?
Why is it that your children would rather play with the plunger, the toilet brush and dirty dishes rather than the expensive toys you buy them.
Why is that your children put every thing in the toilet except what their pee and poop?
Why is it when you clean up one mess, a new one appears?
Why is it that a banana taste so much better smashed and smeared all over everything?

I am home again today....we have gone from High fevers to Hand, foot and mouth and now the stomach flu.....please pray for health at our house!!!
